Singapore will host the first Passenger Terminal Expo Asia (PTE Asia) on 23-24 September 2026. The event, to be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, will gather airport leaders, government officials, and technology specialists, according to the source.

Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of National Development, will be the Guest of Honour and deliver the opening address. Organisers expect more than 3,500 industry professionals, 200 expert speakers, and 125 exhibitors to attend.

The event focuses on airport development, operations, security, sustainability, and passenger experience. It comes as the region prepares for major growth. Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East forecasts annual passenger traffic growth of 4.8% in Asia-Pacific and 5.4% in the Middle East between 2025 and 2028.

Major airport developments and expansions across Southeast Asia represent at least US$40 billion in investment, extending into the early-to-mid-2030s. Substantial additional spending is expected on aircraft, airport technology, air-traffic systems, and supporting infrastructure.

From infrastructure to intelligent operations

The conference programme will examine how airports manage growth with safety, resilience, accessibility, and service as core focuses. Topics include connected passenger experience, intelligent airport operations, sustainability, investment, airport planning, and advanced air mobility.

Key technologies on display will include artificial intelligence, data analytics, biometrics, automation, next-generation security and baggage systems, and sustainable airport technologies.

Dominic Pinfold, Event Director for Passenger Terminal Expo Asia, said the real challenge is how airports translate investment into capacity, resilience, and a better passenger journey. He stated that Singapore is an ideal place for airport leaders from Asia, the Middle East, and beyond to compare strategies and examine emerging technology.

Key sponsors and exhibitors include AIS-Hill, Vanderlande, Rapiscan Systems, SJ Group, Mitsubishi Elevator, Populous, find inc, Copenhagen Optimization, TAV Technologies, DXC Technology, Analogic Corporation, and Garrett.

Event features and tours

A service called Snapsight will provide AI-generated session summaries, searchable insights, live captions, and multilingual transcripts via QR code. Dynamic Idea Clouds will show themes emerging across the event.

Registered delegates can express interest in two limited-capacity tours hosted by Changi Airport Group. One on 22 September will explore plans for a next-generation smart terminal. A second on 25 September will be a behind-the-scenes tour of the FAST - Fast and Seamless Travel - system to examine how technology and automation support the passenger journey. Attendance is subject to confirmation.
