LATAM Brazil begins Embraer E195-E2 delivery for 2026 expansion
LATAM Airlines Brazil has started the delivery process for its first Embraer E195-E2, with 12 jets scheduled for 2026 to launch new domestic routes and advance sustainability goals.

LATAM Airlines Brazil and Embraer have initiated the delivery process for the airline’s new E195-E2 jets. The first of 12 aircraft scheduled for delivery this year will enter operations between November 2026 and March 2027.
Before entering service, the first aircraft must complete customs procedures, cabin interior approval, and certification with Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). Cooperation between the manufacturer and airline has substantially shortened this certification timeline, which is expected to be completed within a year of the acquisition announcement. The use of Embraer's demonstrator aircraft, known as 'Profit Hunter,' for training and evaluations roughly halved the time required for these procedures.
Network expansion and new destinations enabled by E195-E2 deployment
The initial deployment of the first 14 E195-E2 jets will launch 42 routes. This includes eight new connections, introducing four destinations to LATAM's network: Cabo Frio, Ji-Paraná, Macaé, and Rondonópolis.
With these routes launched, LATAM Brazil will have the largest domestic network in the nation's history. The airline currently serves 63 Brazilian airports, a significant increase from the 44 it served six years ago. Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil, stated that the airline chose the E195-E2 with the clear objective of expanding its presence in Brazil sustainably. The goal is to surpass 70 airports served in Brazil by 2027, connecting new markets with strong demand and economic potential to its global network. The airline is currently assessing up to 18 further destinations for 2027 which will also use the E195-E2.
Aircraft configuration and passenger experience on E195-E2
LATAM Brazil will configure its E195-E2 aircraft with 136 seats in a two-by-two layout, eliminating middle seats. The cabins will be split between Economy and Premium Economy classes.
LATAM Brazil may have slight differences in how it configures each individual aircraft.
Operational and environmental benefits of the E195-E2 for LATAM Brazil
The new jets are central to expanding capacity while meeting efficiency and sustainability targets. The E195-E2 delivers up to 30% lower fuel burn compared to first-generation E-jets. Through aerodynamic, powerplant, and technological advances, the E2 family reduces carbon emissions by 25%.
Fourth-generation fly-by-wire avionics on the aircraft will also reduce pilot workload, making operations less strenuous.
Training, certification, and future fleet plans
This delivery is the first part of a larger order. The LATAM Group announced in September 2025 an acquisition covering up to 74 E195-E2 aircraft. Another 12 jets are planned for delivery in 2027.
The detailed deployment programme starts in November 2026. A precise inaugural service-entry date remains to be clarified, though operations are anticipated in the coming days relative to that schedule. LATAM Brazil will complete all required customs, cabin approval, and ANAC certification before the first E195-E2 enters operations between November 2026 and March 2027.
